关注（此文包含了一些本人的拙见和看法，另外大部分资料全部翻译并转载自外网FANDOM等百科网站，感谢那些贡献资料的朋友们。）Trollge是衍生自“Trollface meme”系列的一种新的meme，在2021年初以“事件”视频的形式出现在网络平台上，这些视频绝大部分内容都以诡异、恐怖、惊悚等令人不安的方式讲述着各种故事。Trollge.据推测，Trollge meme系列是受到了2012年左右的科学漫画启发和影响，而故事灵感可能来源于各大平台上都有所耳闻的“都市传说”系列，以及“SCP基金会”、“克苏鲁神话”等知名恐怖文化，因此Trollge meme总是充满着一种喜剧与惊悚融合的怪诞感。2021年春季，Trollge已经在互联网上成为一种半流行式meme，各种各样的跟风视频如雨后春笋般冒出。这种现象也已经不是第一次了。前几年的警笛头自从传入国内之后，被各种营销号疯狂转发，导致一部分人误以为警笛头是衍生自SCP基金会的产物，实际上警笛头是由一名叫特雷弗·亨德森的人所创造的形象；而Trollge的身影也不止局限于自身的事件视频内，它还以游戏mod的形式出现在一些外网热门游戏中，例如《Friday night funkin'》。回到主题。Trollge事件视频的特征/结构这种meme的视频始终保持着一种标注格式——他们通常以教程的形式为你展现一个如何去“做”的过程，接着再以步骤（Step）如何完成一个目标等等。最初的时候，整个过程看起来很正常，但随着步骤的递进，整个视频的画风开始变得不正常起来，甚至向着诡异发展。这些看似正常的步骤，往往都会在最后一步演变成一些可怕、恐怖的意外/超自然/灾难性事件。最初的事件视频格式都是循序渐进，但近期已经有一些事件视频从一开始就奠定了恐怖的画风。Trollge事件视频里几乎共同拥有的属性：在视频中通常会使用人工语音的声音说出文本步骤。随着步骤推进，视频中的人工语音会渐渐变调、卡顿，甚至是出现刺耳的杂音，或是让人无法理解，以烘托氛围。绝大部分的Trollge事件漫画或视频的最后一个步骤展示了一个神秘、可怕、令人毛骨悚然的事件，例如Troll face最后变成了一个恐怖无比的怪物、或是他被残忍地谋杀、自残等。最后一个步骤将在文本中显示事件的名称。事件的名称会故意弄得模糊且神秘，但通常会用引号引起来，并包含有关“事件”期间可能已发生（或将发生）的事情的一切模糊线索。这些事件的确切性质从未被解释过（类似于SCP文件中的[已编辑]和██████）。仿照现实世界的真实日期（通常在不久的将来）显示在事件名称旁边（例如，“2021 年 5 月纽约“天堂阶梯”事件），暗示事件发生或发生在那个时间。关于事件与心理机制的联系大部分Trollge漫画/视频所展现的恐怖可以分为以下类型，推测它们都取材于现实中的心理疾病。1.令人感到毛骨悚然的、无法理解的怪物（可以立刻杀死你的那种）2.残忍、冷血的谋杀3.极端孤独/被孤立（例如...宇宙中的最后一个人类）4.无法控制、足以造成巨大破坏的超自然事件5.超脱现实/与现实失去联系（无论是精神还是肉体）6.世界末日等一系列场景一些个别事件除外。Trollge的今生前世最初的Trollface可以溯源到2008年，那时候它的名字还叫Tomface，由一名叫Carlos Ramirez的大学生所创作。trollface大多时间都出现在一些恶搞科学的漫画（如下图《把油涂满全身》）中，也在这个时候，它的人设被塑造为一个喜欢调皮捣蛋、捉弄他人、恶作剧的淘气角色。2012年，trollface随着网络和meme的发展受到了广大欢迎，更是在同年达到了人气巅峰，与其他搞笑meme组成了一个个大家庭。漫画内容为一则冷笑话：既然油可以浮在水面上，那么把油涂满全身后等到下雨的天气来临，那整个人会不会飞起来....（冷汗）然而trollface在大火之后，却造成了一个特殊的现象——表情本身比漫画还火。换句话说，就是一个人造出来的梗比这个人的本人还要火。（例如主播秦川，就是那个围巾狗头人表情包的来源）因此在2014年之后，虽然trollface依然出现在一些恶搞视频中作为活跃气氛出现，但它的人气却一路下滑，渐渐消失在了人们的视野中。....直到八年后，它回来了。不对劲的转折点尽管最初的tomface科学漫画系列都是以轻松搞笑为主，其中塑造的trollface那贱萌无比的俏皮形象也已经深入人心，但在2020年，一些“特别”的tomface漫画再次出现在了互联网上。例如《把油涂满全身》这篇经典的冷笑话漫画开始出现一些令人感到不适的版本，有一个版本前三个步骤都是取自于原版素材，但漫画的最后一格变成了trollface开枪自S的画面；其他版本“还有如何让自己的身体自燃”、“把可乐涂满全身然后用曼妥思令自己自爆”等包含了自S元素的另类版本。最初的事件2020年11月7日，一名叫EbolaGranola的用户在推特上发表了一张以《把油涂满全身》漫画的改版，而在这个漫画的最后一格则出现了一串文本：【2021年5月 纽约市“天堂阶梯”事件】这是Trollge的第一次事件发生。该图以原漫画为基础做了一个修改，内容变成了：“既然油会浮在水面上，那么那些油性皮肤的人在下雨天会不会....”于是乎，最后一格展现了雨天中的城市忽地漂浮起一些人类来，纷纷往天上飞去....这一幕便被命名为了“天堂阶梯”事件。Trollge meme的流行此图一经发布，便吸引了广大都市传说爱好者、以及一些恐怖文化爱好者，他们纷纷以trollface为原型，创作出了各种包含恐怖、惊悚元素的改图版本，也就是在这个时候，trollface慢慢地从一个逗人发笑的调皮谐星形象，转变为了令人感到不安的形象。2021年8月 极光森林事件 也算是一个经典事件了随着meme的流行，trollface的脸部形象也难逃一劫，一种毛骨悚然、可怕的trollface形象开始出现在一些事件漫画中，久而久之，这个可怕的形象便被称之为“Trollge”，为的就是将trollface和trollge区分开来，毕竟人们还是很喜欢那个搞笑滑稽的trollface，舍不得它就这样被扭曲成都市传说中的怪物啊。最后，我还是想提醒一些朋友：Trollge事件不是真的，它们都是互联网上虚构出来的内容，请勿当真！本文禁止转载或摘编

Rage comic character
The original Trollface
Trollface or Troll Face is a rage comic meme image of a character wearing a mischievous smile, used to symbolise internet trolls and trolling. It is one of the oldest and most widely known rage comic faces.[1][2]
History
Trollface was drawn in Microsoft Paint on September 19, 2008, by Carlos Ramirez, an 18-year-old Oakland college student.[3][4] The image was published on Ramirez's DeviantArt page, "Whynne",[4] as part of a rage comic titled Trolls, about the pointless nature of trolling.[5][6] Ramirez posted the image to the imageboard website 4chan and other users began to share it.[3][7] In the following months, Ramirez's drawing quickly gained traction on 4chan as the universal emoticon of an internet troll and a versatile rage comic character. From 4chan, Trollface spread to Reddit and Urban Dictionary in 2009,[4][5] eventually reaching other internet image-sharing sites such as Imgur and Facebook.[5]
In March 2021, Ramirez announced his intention to sell a non-fungible token for Trollface.[8]
Usage
Trollface shows a troll, someone who annoys others on the internet for their own amusement.[2] The original comic by Ramirez mocked trolls;[3] however, the image is widely used by trolls.[9] Trollface has been described as the internet equivalent of the children's taunt "nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah" or sticking one's tongue out.[9] The image is often accompanied by phrases such as "Problem?" or "You mad, bro?"[10]

On April 8, 2015, Kotaku ran an in-depth interview article with Ramirez about his now-iconic rage comic character.[3] In the article, Ramirez estimated that since registering Trolls with the United States Copyright Office on July 27, 2010, he had earned more than $100,000 in licensing fees and other payouts associated with Trollface, including from licensing for shirts emblazoned with the face being sold by the retail chain Hot Topic, with monthly revenues reaching as high as $15,000 at its peak.
In addition, Ramirez also offered a backstory behind the removal of the video game Meme Run for Wii U for copyright infringement for including Trollface as the main character.[3][11] Trollface is protected by copyright, but is not trademarked.[12]
Impact

Trollface was described by La Tercera as "the father of memes".[4] A bust of Trollface was exhibited at the Mexico City museum Museo del Meme.[13]
In March 2012, a viral video showed a banner emblazoned with Trollface and the word "Problem?" being used by fans of the Turkish Second League football team Eskişehirspor to protest a rule change.[14]
In the Black Mirror episode "Shut Up and Dance", the blackmailers send Trollface photographs after they leak the victims' secrets in spite of their compliance.[15]
In February 2021, Rebecca Black released a remix of her 2011 song "Friday" to celebrate its 10th anniversary, with the song's music video featuring several rage comic characters, including Trollface.[16]

About
Trollface is a rage comic character wearing a mischievous smile that is meant to represent the facial expression of an Internet troll. The image is most commonly used to portray a character as a troll in rage comics, or alternatively, to identify oneself or another participant as such in online discussions.
Origin
The Trollface was originally drawn by Carlos Ramirez, an Oakland-based artist known by his DeviantART[1] handle Whynne, as part of a MS Paint webcomic about the pointless nature of trolling on 4chan's /v/ (video games) board. The comic was uploaded to deviantART on September 19th, 2008.
In the deviantART post, Ramirez added a note revealing that he was attempting to draw a comic character known as the "Rape Rodent."
Spread
In the following months, Ramirez' drawing quick gained traction on 4chan as the universal emoticon of an Internet troll and a versatile rage comic character. For a brief time, the face became alternatively known as "the coolface" after a rage comic-style webcomic took off on 4chan and Ebaumsworld[2], though only for a brief period of time.
Throughout the first half of 2009, Trollface quickly gained favor with Redditors and rage comic artists in particular, in part owing to the rapid growth of the /r/f7u12 subreddit around that same time. On August 1st, 2009, the first Urban Dictionary[3] definition for "trollface" was submitted by user A Terrible Driver. Thousands of additional webcomic and photoshopped instances featuring the face can be found Tumblr[4], Cheezburger[5], Reddit[6], Facebook[7], Quickmeme and Memegenerator among many others.
Copyright Infringement Dispute
On July 16th, 2011, a screenshot of an email sent to an undisclosed recipient from a man named Carlos Ramirez claiming to be Whynne was posted to Reddit.[8] The email stated that the use of Trollface on Reddit violated his copyright on the image and requested the subreddit to be removed from the site.
The email was reposted to f7u12[10] in a thread titled "Looks like f7u12 is done". Then, a Redditor named Whynne[9] reponded to the thread saying:
You know what also makes me happy? Trolling reddit and seeing a shitstorm like this develop.
The background image for the f7u12 pages was changed to a picture of trollface with the text "HEY WHYNNE… U MAD BRO?":
On March 3rd, 2015, Meme Run, an endless-running 2D platformer video game featuring a plethora of internet meme references, including the Trollface, was removed from the Wii U eShop following the issuance of a Digital Millennium Copyright Act takedown notice from Ramirez as the copyright holder of the character[16] (shown below).
Profitability of Trollface
On April 8th, 2015, Kotaku[17] ran an in-depth interview article with Ramirez about his now-iconic rage comic character. In the article, the Trollface artist estimated that he has earned more than $100,000 in licensing fees, settlements and other payouts since registering with the U.S. Copyright Office in 2010, with monthly revenues reaching as high as $15,000 at its peak in popularity. In addition, Ramirez also offered a backstory behind the removal of Meme Run from Wii U eShop, quoted as saying:
“People message me,” he said, “‘Hey, look, your trollface was used here! You oughta sue these guys” I just say ‘Okay, I’ll look at it.’ And I look at it. If it’s a really minor thing, I can’t be bothered with it. It’ll take too much time, and let people have their fun. If they’re not making any significant money on it, it’s like, eh, not a big deal. If you’re publishing a game on a major platform and it’s using my image, it’s kind of hard to ignore.”
“It’s really troublesome when you’re making a game comprised entirely of memes,” he said. “It’s a big problem of copyright infringement, all across the board, and I guess I was the only one with enough time to go out of my way and shake it down.”
2020 Resurgence / New Wave Trollface Memes
In 2020, Trollface experienced online resurgence in ironic memes, much like the resurgence of Doge memes in 2017 and 2018. The resurgence was triggered by ironic popularity of Cover Yourself in Oil format which hailed from an original Troll Science comic posted by 9GAG[18][19] user Gegirik on February 13th, 2020 (shown below).
Cover Yourself in Oil
Cover Yourself in Oil refers to a Troll Science meme in which a person covers themselves in oil and manages to fly in the rain due to oil being less dense than water. Originating from a 2020 9GAG post, it was interpreted by many as a repost of an older meme and was later reimagined in ironic memes.
Trollge
Trollge refers to a unsmiling Trollface partially obscured with shadow. The Trollface gained its name and popularity from to a series of creepypasta-styled countdown videos that warn the viewer about the upcoming arrival of an entity named "Trollge" and advice to seek shelter. The videos were posted in /r/196 and /r/okbuddyretard subreddits in mid-November 2020 and received further spread online through reposts.
Schizoposting
Schizoposting refers to a large subset of memes that exploit the topic of schizophrenia and mental instability. A notable subformat makes use of Trollface and rage comics to create short narratives about schizophrenia, insanity and conspiracy theories.

Trollface源自於一名在DeviantArt上的畫家針對論壇上Trolling(鬧板)行為製作的短篇漫畫，這篇漫畫指出，鬧版者通過發無聊或無意義的釣魚貼，用看似愚蠢的迴應誘使更多的人加入爭論，從而有計劃地擾亂版上的秩序以及每一個人的心情。Trollface就是用來表現鬧板者很有把握地相信在熒幕另一端的你一定上鈎時露出的表情。

後來這張臉便被外國網民們截取下來並加以活用，用來表示"其實我一直在鬧你"。而一個討論串的開頭若是以這張圖作為開頭，經常意味着這篇文章是用來釣魚的，作者願意就等着看會有多少人上鈎。Trollface也有許多其他衍生作品，而這些作品無一不是要達到嘲諷被鬧受害者的目的。

另外，提到Trollface，當然不能不順便提一下Troll(網絡小白)這個字的由來：Troll，一般人熟知的食人妖或是巨魔，除了力大無窮之外，最大的一個特徵就是再生力超強，除非受到極為致命的傷害，否則總是有能力自我痊癒再生戰鬥，這和網絡小白怎麼樣也除不盡的特性有着異曲同工之妙，因此老外將網絡小白稱作Troll，在許多論壇上大家也總是呼籲成員奉行"Don't feed the troll"(不要餵食巨魔)的原則，意指不要理會鬧板小白與他在泥巴坑裏打滾，因為引起眾人注意正是驅動小白不斷鬧板的最大動力之一。不過呢，後來有人發現troll一詞剛好有以拖船釣魚、釣餌之意，所以他產生了另一個更好讓人理解、更直白的解釋："釣魚"。例句： That troll is trolling again, don't feed the troll. (那個小白又在釣魚了，別上當。)以上，你知道這張笑顏背後隱藏的意義，下次拿他當作表情符號時請三思而後行，因為一個不小心可是會大大影響整段句子的語氣和文意的。

Trollface是一個帶著頑皮微笑的暴走漫畫迷因形象，用來象徵網絡白目。它是最老和最廣為人知的暴走漫畫角色之一。 [1] [2]

Trollface是由18歲的Oakland學院學生Carlos Ramirez在2008年9月19日使用微軟繪圖工具繪製的。[3][4]這張毫無意義的整蠱圖片被投遞到Ramirez的DeviantArt頁面「Whynne」,[5]上面，並被稱作 Trolls。Ramirez將這張圖片投遞到了4chan網站的貼圖討論版上，許多用戶開始分享這張圖片。在接下來的幾個月當中，Ramirez的作品作為通用的表情符號和變幻多樣的暴走漫畫角色[6][7]，很快在4chan上吸引了大量的流量[8][9]。Trollface同樣在2009年傳播到了Reddit論壇和市井字典當中[10][11]，還傳播到了網際網路上其它的圖片網站，例如Imgur和Facebook[12]。
2021 年 3 月，Ramirez 宣布他將要把TrollFace出售為非同質化貨幣[13][14]。

2015 年 4 月 8 日， Kotaku發表了一篇對Ramirez關於Trollface的深度採訪文章， [15]在文章中，Ramirez估計，自2010 年 7 月 27 日在美國版權局註冊 Trolls以來，他已賺取了超過 100,000 美元的許可費和與 Trollface 相關的其他收入，包括由零售連鎖 Hot Topic 銷售的印有Troll的襯衫的許可，其月收入在高峰期高達 15,000 美元。
此外，Ramirez還交代了為何要刪除Wii U的視頻遊戲 Meme Run ，其原因是將 Trollface 列為主角，侵犯了版權。 [15] [18] Trollface 受版權保護，但未註冊商標。 [19]
